The hidden treasures of Edith Falls

It was a tough walk to get there with the sun beating down on us, but oh what a view when we got to the top! A series of subjacent waterfalls and pools along the Edith River in Nitmiluk National Park, Edith Falls is a hidden treasure among acres of National Parkland, and is a glorious tourist attraction for a refreshing swim and relaxing under the waterfall.

We spent most of the afternoon there as well as the following day, and it soon became my favorite swimming spot of the trip. I spent time swimming in the clear waters, and floating around the rapids, which was a laugh and is good fun regardless of age.

I found a certain spot that was also fairly safe for jumping in off the rocks, and took some pretty hilarious GoPro selfies. This, I must add, is a necessity for travelling. If you don’t have a GoPro or a good quality camera, but you are willing to pay to travel, it’s definitely worth investing in and paying a bit extra to capture experiences of a lifetime.

So yeah, Edith Falls. Our whole group loved her, and we also met an Australian Family who were touring the country in a camper van and had stopped off here. Hence in my opinion, if the Aussies are visiting the area, it’s probably something special, and worth exploring.
