Chocolate protein nests
With lent well and truly underway many of us are in search of combating our cravings with substitute snacks and treats. I for one, have banned cakes and biscuits, and so have been hunting for a semi-healthy alternative.
These nests are packed full of protein and are made primarily of Weetabix, and so contain a good amount of fibre and protein, that’s before even adding the whey powder!

They are oh so easy to make, you’d have to be a genius to go wrong! The hardest part of all for me was waiting for them to set in the fridge!

Ingredients
-
4 Weetabix biscuits
-
3 114g Galaxy chocolate bars
-
½ cup unflavoured whey protein powder
Method.
-
Melt chocolate in the microwave, or add the chocolate to a heatproof bowl and melt over a saucepan of boiling water on medium heat
-
Once chocolate has melted, stir in the protein powder until it has combined well within the chocolate. The melted chocolate will become slightly thicker in constituency.
-
Break up the Weetabix biscuits and stir into the chocolate.
-
Then, spoon out the mixture into small cake cases
-
Leave to chill for roughly 40 minutes in the fridge
