Chocolate Protein Nests

With lent well and truly underway many of us are in search of combating our cravings with substitute snacks and treats. I for one, have banned cakes and biscuits, and so have been hunting for a semi-healthy alternative. These nests are packed full of protein and are made primarily of Weetabix, and so contain a good amount of fibre and protein, that’s before even adding the powder!

They are oh so easy to make, you’d have to be a genius to go wrong! The hardest part of all for me was waiting for them to set in the fridge!

Ingredients

  • 4 Weetabix biscuits

  • 3 114g Galaxy chocolate bars

  • ½ cup unflavoured/chocolate protein powder

Method.

1. Melt chocolate in the microwave, or add the chocolate to a heatproof bowl and melt over a saucepan of boiling water on medium heat.

2. Once chocolate has melted, stir in the protein powder until it has combined well within the chocolate. The melted chocolate will become slightly thicker in constituency.

3. Break up the Weetabix biscuits and stir into the chocolate.

4. Then, spoon out the mixture into small cake cases

5. Leave to chill for roughly 40 minutes in the fridge.
